JET 708360

I’ve been doing woodworking for several years now but never really thought to invest in a Lathe. Since woodworking is quite a passion, I finally decided to try my hand at shaping and doing more elaborate carpentry. The Jet 708360 was highly recommended to me by several friends who share my passion for woodworking as a hobby.
At first, I was considering buying a much more costly and larger lathe such as the Oneway. But it’s really mainly pretty heavy and costs a bunch more and for my needs, it does almos the same things as the JET 708360.

The Jet is less expensive and in general does the type of projects I’m interested in. I was pleasantly surprised that it was easy to get up and running. The holes were flawlessly aligned, a good thing because I have had to deal with poorly aligned holes with other that had to be put together.
For the JET 708360's performance, I've been extremely pleased. It honestly works flawlessly and it is surprisingly quiet with essentially zero vibration. It gives me a smooth cut and the lack of vibration makes polishing a lot easier. It also has a good tail sock, a well-built motor, and the belt adjustment is super-simple to maneuver. In addition, it has a useful tool rack where you can keep your other tools. I’ve been very satisfied with the 708360.

I actually don’t have any large complaints about it and the shipping was free of charge because I bought it from Amazon. In my opinion, the Jet 708360 was pretty much a bargain. It delivers a a lot of value compared to buying the more expensive Oneway just for bragging rights.
I haven’t had any regrets so far with the lathe. Based on my experience, I think most woodworkers will be pleased with the Jet 708360 because it has definitely lived up to my expectations.
